Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Originally located across CTH F, without its steeple and arched windows. This church was moved to its present location in the 1920s, after which the steeple was added and the arched windows were constructed. Still in used today by original congregation which was associated with the Laestadian Movement. This was a Finnish group established in 1872 based on the teachings of Lars Levi Laestadius, which focused on "legalistic sermons and ecstatic states." The movement adopted the name "Finnish Apostolic Lutheran" in 1879. |
