Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Built by Shawano County for tire storage, possibly in collaboration with WPA. The thick stone walls insulated the tires from rapid temperature fluctuations that could damage them. The limestone was taken from a nearby quarry on Lime Kiln Road. The building was donated to the Shawano County Historical Society in 1989. |
