NOTES
Additional Information:NUMEROUS ADDITIONS TO PRIMARILY STONE AND CLAPBOARD STRUCTURE NAER INVENTORY (06/1979): This facility is a combination 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 story structure with a limestone foundation and first floor, and wooden second story construction. The rectangular-shaped facility has two gable roofs, two chimneys, and measures approximately 60' x 30'. The Askeaton Butter & Cheese Co. is first listed in the tax rolls of the Town of Holland in 1906, with the value of the 1 3/4 acre land set at $40, and improvements at $100. In 1907 the land value is the same, but improvements are listed at $1,000. The owner listed in 1907 is Joseph Euhl. A year later Joe Euhl is listed in state records as the owner or manager of a cheese factory in the unincorporated area of Askeaton. The facility changed ownership several times before 1930, and in the late 1940's is said to have been converted into a tavern. Still later it was converted into a residence.
