The Askeaton Butter & Cheese Co. is first listed in the tax rolls of the Town of Holland in 1906, with the value of the 1 3/4 acre land set at $40, and improvements at $100. In 1907 the land value is the same, but improvements are listed at $1,000. The owner listed in 1907 is Joseph Euhl. A year later Joe Euhl is listed in state records as the owner or manager of a cheese factory in the unincorporated area of Askeaton. The facility changed ownership several times before 1930, and in the late 1940's is said to have been converted into a tavern. Still later it was converted into a residence. |
