| Additional Information: | This building was constructed for William Temkin. 2008- "This apartment building fronts on North Farwell Avenue, with a side wall along East Capitol Drive. It is a three-story brick and stucco constructed building with features from the Spanish Colonial Revival style. The building's flat roof is accented on the main or east elevation with a gable roof of red clay tile. Two Spanish style parapets rise over this roof above the two main entrances to the building. Most of the building is constructed of multi-hued brown brick with tan brick on the hidden elevations. Above the entrances the building is covered with stucco and there are shallow two-story bays on the upper stories. There are also recessed balconies featuring round columns holding up the parapet gable on the third story and the arched Spanish-style roof on the second story. The windows punctuating the brick walls sections are largely tripartite four over four sashes at each end of the building and paired sashes at the center. The windows of the bays are square on the third story and round-arched on the second story. Under the bays on the first stozy, the windows are also round-arched. Many of the windows appear to be replacements for the originals." - "E Capitol Dr, Estabrook Pkwy to Lake Dr", WisDOT ID #2025-12-011", Prepared by Carol Lohry Cartwright (2008). |
