Additional Information: | This two-story side gable farmhouse was constructed c.1890. It is of frame construction sheathed in aluminum siding and rests on a fieldstone foundation. The roof is covered with standing seam metal and features an interior brick chimney and two gable wall dormers. Windows are a combination of one-over-one, double-hung sash and two-over-two, double-hung sash. An enclosed porch with three-over-one, double-hung sash windows spans the full length of the front (west) facade. A historic one-story gable addition with an interior brick chimney and side porch are located on the rear (east) elevation. The farmstead consists of 13 outbuildings and structures located south and west of the farmhouse. A c.1920 frame summer kitchen is located east of the rear elevation of the farmhouse. It is a rectangular plan and sheathed in asbestos siding with a gable roof covered with standing seam metal and two-over-two, double-hung sash windows. A. c.1920 three-bay concrete block equipment shed is located south of the farmhouse. It displays a side gable roof covered with standing seam metal, an interior brick chimney, and fixed multi-light windows. A c.1920 frame chicken house is located south of the equipment shed. It is sheathed in vertical wood with a shed roof and a fixed multi-light window. A small c.1910 frame storage shed located south of the farmhouse is sheathed in vertical wood siding and displays a standing seam gable roof. A c.1910 dairy barn (AHI# XXXX) located southeast of the farmhouse is of frame construction, sheathed in vertical wood, and rests on a fieldstone foundation. The gambrel roof is covered with standing seam metal and features a metal ridge ventilator. A c.1925 concrete block milk house is centered on the west elevation of the dairy barn and a c.1915 concrete stave silo with cap may be connected to the south elevation of the barn by a gable hyphen. A c.1920 concrete stave silo with cap and a windmill are located southwest of the dairy barn. A c.1945 wire mesh corncrib with a circular footprint is located near the southwest corner of the dairy barn. A c.1920 frame corncrib sheathed in horizontal wood slats is located west of the metal corncrib. A c.1920 frame shed with an open bay located west of the corncrib is sheathed in corrugated metal. A c.1920 gable implement shed sheathed in corrugated metal is located south of the storage shed and corncribs. . |
