Additional Information: | The church is comprised of two sections. the square, hipped-roof (with oeverhanging eaves) sanctuary wing rests on a raised, poured-concrete foundation and the windowless walls are covered with brick. The one-story, flat-roofed wing with rafter-like roof supports extends to the west and floor-to-ceiling windows alternate with what appears to be a smooth, stucco-like finish wall. The architects--Schuett, Erdmann & Gray--were also known as Architects III. The church's structural roof members were ordered from Unit Structures, Inc., of Peshtigo, Wisconsin. According to a photo in the December 1969 New Berlin Almanack, the former periodical of the New Berlin Historical Society, the administrative wing of the church was only half as long as it is now; that alteration was made after 1969. 2022 - Appearance unchanged |
