It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History.

This two-story wet boat house is of frame construction with a low pitched hip roof and wide overhanging eaves. It features three bays with docks and original wood overhead doors.

The fenestration on the second level was originally openings without screens or glass and covered when not in use by interior wood shutters. The shutters could be raised up and propped to allow light and air. Many of the openings remain as originally designed with the addition of screens. In the 1950s or 1960s, two sets of these openings on the second level were modified to be permanent windows. At this time, the interior space in this section was divided for a bedroom. Since then, the interior partitions have been removed and the second level was restored to one large, open room. [2008]

The boat house was built by the Yawkey family who was involved in early lumbering in the area and they were the first to build on Lake Katerine.
