NOTES
Additional Information:THESE GATE POSTS ARE BUILT OUT OF BRICK AND THEY HAVE CONCRETE BASES AND CAPITALS AND THEY ARE EACH CROWNED WITH A SINGLE FROSTED GLASS GLOBE. THEY WERE BUILT TO FLANK THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO WAUNAKEE PARK, WHICH WAS BUILT BETWEEN 1933 AND 1935 AS A CWA PROJECT. 2008- "This pair of identical Neo-Classical style-influenced gateposts flanks the original main entrance to Waunakee Park. Each gatepost is square in plan and consists of a brown brick-clad shaft that has a concrete base and a concrete capital. In addition, each gatepost is also crowned with an original light standard that consists of a single milk-white glass globe, and both gateposts also bear stone plaques that read "Waunakee Park 1935." These gateposts were built between 1933 and 1935 as part of the larger project that transformed this area into Waunakee Park and the work was done using Civics Works Administration (CWA) labor." -"Waunakee 7.5 Quad", WisDOT#5290-01-02, Prepared by Timothy F. Heggland, (2008). 2021 - Appearance unchanged
