It is rectangular in plan with a stone foundation, clapboard walls with decorative shingling under the gable ends, and a metal-clad gable roof. The front elevation faces east and is asymmetrical in composition. A full-width, 1-story, flat-roofed porch features decorative wood supports with scroll-cut brackets, spandrels, and railings. A bay window projects at the south end of the façade; adjacent to this is a central front door with a 1-over-1 window and another doorway in the northern half of the façade. The second story contains a projecting center bay that projects through the roofline. This narrow bay is capped with a steeply-pitched gable and contains a wood panel door with glazing in its upper half that provides access to the porch roof. A quatrefoil window is located above the door; vertical ribbon windows are located in each side of the projecting bay. Multi-over-1 windows are located on each side of the projecting bay at the second story of the façade. Tall, narrow dormers with steeply-pitched gable roofs project from the front roof slope on each side of the projecting bay. In 1993, the house was shifted approximately 50 feet on the same site as part of a highway improvement project. See AHI 243546, 243547, 243548 for additional buildings on this site. |
