Bibliographic References: | Although assessor’s records cite a 1965 date of construction for the building, the building appears to have been built in 1957, Newsbrief (re: Stark’s “marine mart”), The La Crosse (WI) Tribune, 15 June 1957, 5. A 1964 directory would indicate that the building operated as Stark’s Grill, after which it was Thomas’s Lounge (1966) and Dave’s Lounge (c1967-1972). It was later converted for use as Stark’s Boat Shop, which it remains today. |
