Additional Information:RETURNED EAVES,BLDG ENLARGED AND ALTERED MANY TIMESORIGINALLY W/ GROUND LEVEL TAVERN AND 2ND FLR STORESTAIRWAYS LEADING TO 2ND FLRSTORE FROM BOTH CNRS ROSENHEIMER FAMILY CEMETERY AT CNR OF WASHINGTON ST & SPRUCE AVE 2024 - This Greek Revival Building was constructed in 1860. This structure faces southwest and is rectangular in plan, consisting of a three-story front-gabled mass and a two-story flat-roofed wing to the north. The building has been clad in vinyl siding. The first story is clad in a combination of stucco and a stone veneer, sheltered by a full-width porch with a shingled mansard roof supported by wrought iron posts. Two entrances are located on the primary elevation; the left entrance leads to a restaurant and is flanked by large single-pane display windows with a transom above, while the right entrance leads to residential apartments. The plain wooden doorway is flanked by narrow sidelights, with a pair of casement windows on either side. The second story above the porch contains four irregularly-spaced pairs of modern one-over-one double hung sashes. The third story does not feature any fenestration or architectural detailing. Older photos of the building indicate several window openings on the southern elevation have been removed or covered by the vinyl siding. The roof features returned eaves and boxed soffits.
