NOTES
Additional Information:ACCORDING TO SANBORN-PERRIS MAPS, THE ORIGINAL PORTION OF THIS BUILDING - THIS BEING THE TALLEST PORTION THAT FRONTS ONTO MAIN ST.- WAS BUILT PRIOR TO 1894 AND IN 1894 IT WAS KNOWN AS THE MASSUERE BLOCK. ALL THE REST OF THE CURRENT BUILDING WAS COMPLETED BETWEEN 1894 AND 1903, THESE BEING THE LESS TALL TWO-STORY-TALL PORTIONS THAT WERE ATTACHED TO THE REAR OF THE ORIGINAL PORTION AND WHICH STRETCH DOWN WASHINGTON ST. ALMOST THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE BLOCK. THIS WAS BY FAR THE LARGEST RETAIL BUILDING IN ARCADIA DURING THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES BUT IT IS OF VERY SIMPLE DESIGN AND ITS ORIGINAL STOREFRONT HAS NOW BEEN REPLACED WITH A MODERN ONE AND ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL WINDOWS HAVE ALSO NOW BEEN REPLACED WITH MODERN ONES AS WELL. THE BUILDING WAS NOT OCCUPIED IN 2007. Demolished prior to 1998.
