Additional Information: | 2007- "This newly inventoried farmstead is located on the west side of Bass Lake Road (south of WIS 29), and is comprised of a residence, garage and barn. The ca. 1920 residence is a one-story Bungalow oriented perpendicular to Bass Lake Road. Primarily constructed of rock-faced concrete block, it rests on a stone foundation and has an asphalt-shingle, hip-roof. A small one-story addition is appended to the rear elevation. Exterior alterations include the presence of some aluminum replacement siding and a modified front porch. The present doors and windows appear to be original. Located southwest of the house is a three-bay concrete block garage with an asphalt-shingle, gable-roof. The ca. 1945 garage has been altered by replaced garage doors and the presence of some artificial wood siding. The gambrel-roof barn is located directly west of the residence. The ca. 1920 structure has a stone foundation and a gambrel-roof covered with asphalt shingles. A small one-story frame structure with a gabled roof extends from the barn's east elevation, and was likely utilized as an entry hall. The barn has apparently undergone only minor, cosmetic changes that include some plywood-covered windows and the application of asphalt shingles on the roof." - 'Ringle, Bevent, Hatley, Misson Lake, Birnamwood, Wittenburg", WisDOT #1053-09-06, Prepared by Rachel Bankowitz, (2007). A SMALL ONE-STORY ADDITION IS APPENDED TO THE REAR ELEVATION OF THE HOUSE. OTHER APPARENT ALTERATIONS INCLUDE THE PRESENCE OF SOME ALUMINUM REPLACEMENT SIDING AND A MODIFIED FRONT PORCH. ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS APPEAR TO ORIGINAL. A THREE-BAY CONCRETE BLOCK GARAGE IS LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF THE HOUSE AND HAS AN ASPHALT-SHINGLE, GABLE-ROOF. THE CA. 1945 GARAGE HAS BEEN ALTEREED BY REPLACED GARAGE DOORS AND ARTIFICIAL WOOD SIDING. A GAMBREL-ROOF BARN IS ALSO LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY, AND IS A CA. 1920 STRUCTURE WITH A STONE FOUNDATION. |
