Additional Information: | This culvert is constructed of quarried and cut stone and likely dates to the late 19th century. Indeed, the Chicago & North Western Railroad built many of its track-carrying structures of such material. It is a relatively small, stone arch edifice. Some stones are missing, while much of the mortar between the stones appears to be gone. This is a nominal structure that merited surveying for the craftsmanship it embodies. |
