Additional Information: | Building 309 was a combination bath and latrine for enlisted personnel reported as under construction in the 135th Medical Regiment area in the June 1941 issue of the Wisconsin National Guard Review. The building was designed by Lt. Colonel Henry C. Hengels, State of Wisconsin Military Architect and Engineer. The building rests on a concrete wall foundation. The exterior walls are constructed of tan clay tile with red brick corner quoins and bands of brick on the upper gable end walls. The gable roof is sheathed with composition shingles. Modern metal vents project from the roof. Three original door openings on the south elevation are marked by wood lintels. These doorways currently contain single and paired modern metal doors that are accessed by a concrete ramp. All original window openings have been infilled with tan clay tile similar to the walls. A brick chimney projects from the northeast corner. The renovations to the building occurred during the 1990s. |
