Additional Information:THIS BELL TOWER WAS BUILT OUT OF STONE IN THE RUSTIC STYLE USING WPA LABOR IN 1940 AS PART OF A SERIES OF IMPROVEMENTS MADE TO THE PARK DURING THE DEPRESSION. THE BELL ORIGINALLY HUNG IN THE OLD EVANSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL THAT WAS DEMOLISHED IN 1938 WHEN A NEW SCHOOL WAS BUILT, ALSO USING WPA LABOR.
