Additional Information: | 1998- Pewaukee Memorial USARC consists of two buildings on six acres of land. The area immediately surrounding the buildings is mostly covered by asphalt or concrete, with a few landscaped areas. Repeated excavations during military training have heavily disturbed the training area north of the facility. The facility is located in a mixed-use rural area. The facility is owned by the U.S. Government and controlled by the 88th RSC. Pewaukee Memorial USARC consists of a training and administration building and a vehicel maintenance building (Organizational Maintenance Shop or OMS in Army Reserve terminology). The buildings are in good condition and do not appear to have been modified since their original construction. Neither of the buildings exhibit significant architectural character or merit. The training building functions as an administrative and drill facility for Pewaukee USARC. Constructed in 1960, it is an irregular shaped structure consisting of a one-story rectangular administrative section connected to a two-story drill hall by a one-story enclosed corridor. The Reserve Center rests on a poured concrete foundation and has concrete block walls with a reddish brick veneer. A recessed entrance with windows and a pedestrian door is located on the south wall of the administrative area. Windows are located around the perimeter of the administrative area and on the east and west walls of the drill hall. A metal overhead-retractable bay door is located on the east wall of the drill hall. A mid-slope chimney is located on the west half of the administrative area (Figure 157). Low-pitched gable roofs cover the structure. |
