| Additional Information: | 1998- The Onalaska Army Reserve support facility consists of one leased building in Onalaska, WI. The area immediately surrounding the building is mostly covered by asphalt. The land has been significantly altered by construction activities and grading for parking areas. The facility is located in an urban/commercial area. The facility is leased by the U.S. Government and controlled by the 88th RSC. The Onalaska support facility consists of one steel frame structure. The building is in good condition and does not appear to have been significantly modified since its original construction. It does not exhibit significant architectural character or merit The building functions as a vehicle maintenance facility. Constructed circa 1978 for commercial use, it is an irregular-shaped building with a one-story rectangular administrative section and a 1½-story vehicle maintenance section. The structure was constructed of steel I-beams, sided with corrugated metal, and rests on a poured concrete foundation. A single metal pedestrian door is located on the north wall of the administrative section. A metal overhead-retractable bay door and a single metal pedestrian door are located on the east wall of the vehicle maintenance section. Additional entrances include three metal overhead-retractable bay doors and a single metal pedestrian door on the west wall of the vehicle maintenance section (Figure 148). Two sliding windows are located on the north, east and west walls of the administrative section. Low-pitched gable roofs cover the structure. |
