Additional Information: | 1998- Andrew Miller USARC consists of two buildings located on eight acres of land in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The area immediately surrounding the facility is mostly covered with asphalt or concrete. The land has been extensively altered by construction activities and grading for parking areas. The facility is located in a residential/recreational area near Lake Michigan. The buildings on the property are owned by the U.S. Government and controlled by the 88th RSC. Land associated with the facility is leased. Andrew Miller USARC consists of a training building, and a vehicle maintenance shop (Organizational Maintenance Shop or OMS in Army Reserve terminology). The buildings are in good condition and do not appear to have been modified since their original construction. Neither of the buildings exhibit significant architectural character or merit. The training building functions as an administrative and drill facility for Andrew Miller USARC. Constructed in 1959, it is an irregular-shaped building consisting of a one-story rectangular administration section connected to a 1½-story drill hall by a one-story enclosed corridor. The Reserve Center rests on a poured concrete foundation and has concrete block walls with a reddish-brown brick veneer. A recessed entrance with a paired pedestrian door is located on the west wall of the administration section. A metal overhead-retractable bay door is located on the north wall of the drill hall. Windows are located around the perimeter of the administration section. Low-pitched gable roofs cover the structure. |
