Additional Information: | HOUSE HAS A FIELDSTONE FOUNDATION. Sanborn maps show that the upright wing was in place prior to 1894 and that the other wing appeared between 1900 and 1914. 2019 - A simple, gabled ell, this two story house was constructed on a fieldstone and concrete foundation of red brick laid in a running bond. Most windows have a segmental arch comprised of vertically placed, alternating brick stretchers and headers. Situated on the east side of Division Street and facing west, the gabled endwall on the main block has paired, double-hung sashes centered on the first floor and single windows placed symmetrically on the second floor. The main entrance is set in the ell and sheltered by a hipped roof porch, the entire porch now being encased in plastic and thus is unobservable. A single window is located above the porch, immediately below the roof. The south endwall has a single, double-hung window on each floor, that on the second being directly above that on the first. The north sidewall has five windows, three on the first and two on the second, the latter with straight heads, immediately below the roof. |
