Additional Information: | See info for Record #136219. September 2005-This farmstead consists of a farmhouse, barn, large frame shed/garage and two smaller frame outbuildings. A large gambrel roof, bank barn is located to the east of the house; the basement is constructed of fieldstone, while the upper level is covered with board siding. A smaller frame outbuilding with six-over-six light windows stands adjacent to the barn on the south, while a small pumphouse structure is located closest to the roadway. An additional frame shed/garage is located behind the house. Based on its appearance, this house was likely constructed in circa 1880. Plat maps indicate that the owner of the property in 1873 was J. Jost. By 1892, the parcel was under the ownership of John Klug, who retained the property until at least 1948. No significant biographical information could be found on either Jost or Klug. 2024; Basement barn; fieldstone foundation; wood board; gambrel roofline. Concrete silo at rear (c. 1910). Pumphouse & poultry/smokehouse to east. Property also contains farmhouse (AHI #136219). |
