Additional Information: | DESCRIPTION This two-story gabled ell house is constructed of cream brick. It has a low-pitched intersectiong gable roof with wide eaves asn a wooden frieze. Windows are two-over-two light double-hung sashes topped with brick lable moldings. A large front porch covers the first floor. It consists of a flat roof with plain square posts. Also on the property is a fieldstone constructed shedwith a low-pitched gabled roof, stone quoins at the corners, and openings framed with wood. The barn on the property is a gabled roof structure with board siding, large sliding doors and a fieldstone foundation. One side of the barn is banked while the other side has a narrow forebay. At the top of the roof is a cupola with a jenkinhead intersecting roof. There are pointed arch louvered openings in the sides of the cupola. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND This farmstead was owned by Jacob Klumb between 1867 and 1873 and by Phillip Klumb in 1892.[a] |
