SCROLL CUT PORCH A MODERN ADDITION. "George Fischer built this house in 1848 and left for the California gold fields in 1849. Edward Blank, Cedarburg's second postmaster, became the owner in 1854. Since then, this dwelling has been occupied by five generations of his family. In 1989, Marie Kuhefuss, the last surving member of the family, bequeathed the house to the Cedarburg Cultural Center. The original structure is the north two-story frame Greek Revival which projects toward the street. The stone south wing was added in 1864." A Walk Through Yesterday in Cedarburg |
