| Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. Memorial Park is dedicated to the "soldiers and sailors of Washburn." A veteran's monument donated by DuPont is located at the entrance to the Park. In the center of the Park there is a cluster of four buildings. The largest building was once the Park caretaker's home during the summer. Other buildings served as a concession stand and an outdoor kitchen. Although not architecturally significant, these buildings represent an important aspect of the social history of the community. For generations, Memorial Park was also a popular swimming destination when a long dock extended from the water's edge. |
