PAIRED BRACKETS AT EAVESMOULDED STONE PEAKED ARCH LINTELSSTONE SILLS AND QUOINSALTERED 1ST FLR FRONT "Nineteenth century "dandies" shopped here for Lauterbach tailored suits, ready-made clothing, caps and "gent's" furnishings of all kinds. Four generations of Lauterbachs operated this business. The original entrance doorway was flanked by windows framed in wood. Notice the dressed quarried stones of the front versus the "rubble-style" of masonry used on the south side. It was common to put better materials on the street side."
