| Additional Information: | This one-room schoolhouse is located parallel to USH 14 on Symons Road, 350 feet south of the highway. It is of frame construction, sheathed in clapboard, and rests on a limestone foundation. The front gable roof is covered with asphalt shingles and features a belfry with a bell, interior brick chimney, and overhanging eaves with a simple cornice. Windows are original four-over-four, double-hung sash with would surrounds and pedimented lintels. The front (north) elevation features paired glass and wood panel entrance doors with a multi-light transom. The door displays the original wood surround with pediment flanked by two exterior lights. |
