NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' titled "Hortonville Downtown Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History.

What is now a single building was originally two separate Boomtown Style buildings. The clapboard-clad second stories of these buildings are still largely intact but the first stories have now been clad in permastone veneer and the storefronts have been altered. These buildings were surveyed in conjunction with a Section 106 survey of STH 15 (WisDOT # 6430-06-00). These buildings were included within the boundries of a potential Hortonville Downtown historic district that was identified by Jim Draeger in 1999 and they were considered to be non-contributing to the district.

Sanborn maps show that both of these buildings were built prior to 1894. 208 was used as a saloon from 1894 until at least 1909 and 212 was a dwelling from 1894 until at least 1923. The second story of 212 appears to have been constructed between 1901 and 1909.
