NOTES
Additional Information:The resort began no later than 1939; the earliest known owner/proprietor was William Adams. Mr. & Mrs. E.C. Tipps are noted as later proprietors. Bill and Clarene Dayton, who were from the Manitowoc, Wisconsin, area owned the property for some time prior to 1982. Since then the resort has been owned by Ken and Mabel Darton. Mabel Caskey Darton was the granddaughter of Sylvester Caskey, the gentleman who established Sylvan Rest on Lac Vieux Desert in 1909. Ken was also familiar with the resort life as his parents purchased The Great Escape, which is located along the east shore of North Twin Lake. Ken recently passed away, but Mabel still maintains the resort business. At some point the "s" of Twin Pines was dropped and is known as Twin Pine Resort.
