NOTES
Additional Information:Built in 1949, The Braywood was created by Bill Bray and Frances Woods. Bray and Woods were a famous husband-and-wife dancing couple who gained notoreity by performing all over the United States with such big-name bands as Lawrence Welk, Wayne King and Bob Crosby. In 1949, while performing at the nearby Jack-O-Lantern Lodge (no longer extant), Billy noticed that noe of the sleeping rooms had private baths. It was then that Bray decided to build a modern motel, with all sixteen rooms featuring their own private baths.
