Additional Information: | Al and Irene Roer purchased 5 acres and 500 feet of frontage along the west side of Carpenter Lake in 1938. Between 1938 and 1944, the Roers built five cottages; each of which had its own outhouse. The next owners, Vivian and Ariel Fredericksons (niece and husband of the Roers), built the sixth cottage, known as the Canary. In 1949, the property was sold to Woodrow and Esther Hanselman. The Hanselmans moved The Eagle onto a foundation and it became their year-round home. The resort is currently run by the Hanselmans son David and his wife Marge. |
