Additional Information: | Most likely built in the 1920s or 1930s, directories do not cite this address until 1956 when it identified the owner as Herman L. Schultz. 2016- "One-and-one-half-stories in height, this brick Period Tudor Revival-style house features multiple gables. A large limestone and concrete patio with an ironwork railing is oriented to the right (north). The main entrance faces east and is located within a round-arch opening highlighted with limestone blocks. More limestone is found at the base of the prominent wall chimney, which is situated to the right of the entrance and includes the letter S executed in metal. A hyphen attaches the rear (west) elevation to a garage, both of which are clad with sheet siding. Fenestration generally consists of replacement, six-over-six, double-hung sashes. Assessors records indicate a 1935 date of construction; however, directories do not cite this address until 1956 when it identified the owner as Hetman L. Schultz." -"North Ave: Calumet Dr (west) to N 15th St (east)", WisDOT#4996-01-78, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (Faltinson), (2016). |
