Additional Information: | Rising one-and-one-half stories, this bungalow residence features hipped-roof dormers along three planes of the hipped roof. A rectangular, enclosed porch extends from the northwest corner of the primary (west) facade and features double-hung, sash windows like those found on the remainder of the house. A large, two-light picture window is located south of the porch addition and features leaded glass within its upper pane. Windows throughout the remainder of the house are variously arranged singly, in pairs and in tripartite groupings. An historic photograph of the house indicates that the original front porch was open and featured wooden column supports. The Northwestern Iron Company built this house in 1916. For at least a period of time, it was occupied by W. Janzer, a stenographer at the iron works. After the dissolution of the company, the home's first private owner was carpenter Max Guse. Guse maintained the home well into the 1940s, at which time he sold it to Robert Kohli. Following Robert's death, the Kohli estate sold the home in 1992 to current owners Gary and Cindy Greves. |
