Additional Information: | This one story cabin was constructed c. 1925. It features a poured concrete foundation and a hipped roof with asphalt shingles and exposed rafters. The exterior of the cabin is clad in half log siding, which extends beyond the corner notching where the front (south) elevation intersects with the side (east and west) elevations. Entrances are located on the front and west elevations. An historical shed roof addition with exposed rafters exists on the rear (north) elevation. The side elevations have six over six windows, while the front elevation has replacement casement windows. A modern deck has been added to the front elevation. According to the current owner, the cabin is associated with the house directly to the west. The house was not recorded as part of this survey due to a lack of historic integrity. The owner also indicated that the cabin was used as a year round rental property and was not associated with a group or complex of cabins, such as a cabin court. In addition, historic travel brochures, directories, and maps of the area did not indicate a cabin court or other lodging at this location. This property was surveyed as part of WISDOT #5060-00-03. |
