Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2018 - VAHC Building No. 5 is a two-story brick veneered building with a rectangular footprint and a flat roof. The primary entrance is located on the south-facing façade. The entrance consists of a modern enclosed metal and glass vestibule that extends from the wall and is topped by a metal clad flat roof similar to those seen on other ancillary buildings within the complex. This entrance was added sometime after 2000. Banks of ribbon windows are framed by concrete on the first story flanking the entry and the entire width of the second story. Based on primary source descriptions it is likely that this was originally the nurses living quarters for the hospital. It currently functions as transitional housing for patients. |
