Additional Information: | The studio is a one-and-one-half-story, front-gabled Scandinavian hewn log building that was moved to the site and re-erected. The building was apparently a loft house and was constructed of horizontal hewn logs fastened together by square double notched corners. It has an overhanging second story supported by large wooden scroll brackets. The overhang shelters the entrance. The attic story is clad in vertical boards that are held in place with wooden pegs. The roof is supported by exposed purlins and clad in a red tile characteristic of Swedish architecture. The building is lit with small multi-pane windows. A wood post fence landscapes the studio. It appears that a wing was added to the building during the time that it was erected on site. Large wood batten doors indicated it may have been used for machinery or equipment storage. |
