Additional Information: | RETURNED EAVES AND CHIMNEY AT EACH GABLEDOOR W/ TRANSOM AND SIDELIGHTSREAR WING COVERED IN GROUT Some sources have cited the building, which now houses a restaurant, as being a link on the Underground Railroad. However, actual evidence has not been found, and the method cited for supposedly getting fugitives into and out of the building- a tunnel to the Fox River, which would have had to be several hundred feet long and go under three buildings, a road, and a factory building- appears unlikely. |
