Additional Information: | The second story of the building was added in the 1920s when it was converted to rental housing. 2002: An 1884 photograph, as well as tax records, indicate that this building was constructed in the late 1870s as a blacksmith shop for Chris Lugveil. The photograph reveals that the building was originally one-story tall and had a side-gabled roof. Lugveil owned the property into the early 1920s. By 1930, it had been passed onto Herman Schielke, who is believed by long-time local residents to have constructed the second story and converted the building into rental housing. By 1955, William Kehrein had purchased the property. The building was recently converted into an antique shop; however, it currently stands vacant. |
