Additional Information: | Also on property are: two large bank barns (AHI 122946), shed, silo, and lumber mill building with a sign inscribed "WALT REYNOLDS POST & LUMBER." The earliest available plat (1870) indicates that this tract was the farmstead of Thomas Gribble. Gribble was born in the Town of Waldwick and ultimately owned 457 acres scattered throughout the township. This particular tract remained part of the Gribble estate until at least 1901. The majority of the historic-period structures were most likely built during Gribble's tenure. In 1915, the property was occupied by M.N. McPherson. By 1920, ownership had passed to John M. Reynolds, who retained it into the 1970s. To supplement his income, Reynolds also ran a sawmill. The property remained in the Reynolds family until at least 2001. |
