Additional Information:FULL FRONT IONIC PORCH ROUND WINDOWS IN GABLES AND BY ENTRANCE
William and Catherine Richmond built a Greek Revival house on this site about 1851. He was a local banker who served as mayor of Racine in 1852. Between 1855 and 1895, John Conroe and his widow, Mary lived here.Mr. Conroe owned a hardware store downtown until his death in 1865. Dr. Clarenden Irvinb Shoop and his wife, Ida, bought the house in 1901. The local architect firm of Chandler and Park enlarged and remodeled it form them. Dr. Shoop established a very successful patent medicine business in Racine about 1890. He and Ida lived here until they retired to California in 1921.

RESURVEYED 2007 - MODERN REPLACEMENT SIDING, NEW WINDOWS, SIDE DECK ADDITION, FRONT PORCH ALTERATIONS, IONIC PORCH COLUMNS REMOVED, HEXAGONAL WINDOWS IN GABLE FACES REMOVED.
