Additional Information: | Outbuildings include a c. 1870s gabled bank barn, a small metal-sheathed barn, a metal-clad pole barn, and a windmill without a fan. The earliest available plat (1870) indicates that this farmstead was owned by H.R. Layton. By 1895, the farmstead was owned by Charles H. Thomas, who held it until at least 1901. The next known owner was Joseph Dobson, who possessed the farm from approximately 1915 to 1944. Dobson most likely constructed this residence. By 1956, Milbourn J. Dobson occupied the tract. |
