Additional Information: | June 2001-This two story, front gable building is veneered with brick and appears to date from c. 1900. It is very plain, but exhibits segmental-arched openings with lintels made up of two courses of brick rowlocks. The entrance is centered on the front facing façade and flanked by broad window openings. The first floor openings have been reduced with wood shingles and now hold very small, horizontally-oriented windows. At the second story, 1/1 double hung sash appear; these may also be replacements. Statement of Significance: According to the Sanborn maps, this building was erected sometime between 1894 and 1902. Brick veneering was added after 1902. In 1902, a barbershop occupied the building. It was a residence in 1922 and housed a store in 1940. Currently, it is in apartment use. |
