Additional Information: | September 2001-This farmstead consists of a modern house, four historic outbuildings, one metal and three concrete silos, and two modern sheds. The one-story, contemporary ranch dwelling, constructed c. 1965, has aluminum siding, a concrete-block foundation, and an asphalt-shingled hipped roof. The historic outbuildings and silos were originally associated with the residence across the street, on the northeast corner of STH 91 and CTH E. This residence displays diminished integrity due to replacement siding and new windows, and was not surveyed. Close to the road, on the southwest corner, is the main side-gabled barn (c. 1900) supported by an uncoursed rubblestone foundation. An earth-and-rubblestone bank is built up to the north elevation of the barn, near the street. The barn has an asphalt-shingled roof and wood vertical board siding. It has a one-story, front-gabled extension with clapboard siding, asphalt shingles, and a rubblestone foundation. A small shed (c. 1900) behind this barn has clapboard siding and a side-gabled, standing seam metal roof. A second barn, constructed c. 1900, is located off of CTH E. It has an uncoursed rubblestone foundation, board-and-batten siding, and a standing seam metal gable roof. A one-story addition extends from the east façade displaying an asphalt-shingled gable roof and clapboard siding. A large shed (c. 1900) to the west of the house has a front-gabled roof with asphalt shingles and wood-and-aluminum siding. Two contemporary, aluminum-sided sheds stand to the east of the house. |
