Additional Information: | Constructed of historic materials including some from 827 First St. A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. Built as a general store and residence. Housed the first official Waldo post office, with Lawson as postmaster, after it moved here from Onion River in 1877. Wing addition constructed circa 1889. After Lawson died in 1921, his wife Isadora lived here until her death in 1941. The interior of the store is largely original. |
