Additional Information: | 2001: City directory information indicates that this residence was built between 1913 and 1915 by Chauncey P. Ross. In 1915, Ross was an assistant purchasing agent at the Waukesha Motor Co. (In 1929, Ross moved to 210 W. College and built a rather impressive residence while serving as the assistant general manager of the Waukesha Motor Co.). Tax records from 1920 indicate that the house was under the ownership of William Beckman. Between 1921 and 1925, the home was occupied first by Verene L. Gibbs and then A. Raymond and Mabel Cleland. Cleland and his wife were the president and vice president, repectively, of the Waukesha Silurian Water Co. By 1925, the house was purchased by Albert & Laura Reap. The Reaps remained in the home into the 1940s; however, by 1950, the city directory notes that a renter occupied the home. |
