NOTES
Additional Information:Built between 1900 and 1914. Resurveyed 2016: Subsequent changes include the addition of a canvas awning across the facade. This 1-story Commercial Vernacular building was constructed c.1910. It is rectangular in plan with brick walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces south and features two recessed doorways and large shop windows. Decorative metal columns flank the doorways. A canvas awning spans the width of the façade. Decorative brickwork (a raised zigzag pattern with corbelling at the corners and a dentilated stringcourse below) is located just below the roofline. 2017: Same as 2016. 2022: This one-story, commercial vernacular building was constructed c.1910. It is of brick masonry construction with a rectangular plan and flat roof with metal coping. The front (south) facade features an ornamental brick cornice. It features an iron-column storefront with a central recessed entrance flanked by large, fixed-framed glass windows with transoms. A secondary entrance, originally at the east end of the facade, has been infilled with a walk-up order window. A large modern sign has been installed above the storefront in the form of a large metal arc that extends out from the facade and is topped with the lettering “Luna Coffee Roasters.” Sanborn fire insurance maps indicate this building housed a warehouse store in 1914, shortly after its c.1910 construction date. A review of available historic maps, photos, and local histories was inconclusive as to other businesses at this location throughout most of the twentieth century. At some point prior to 2001, Valley Ski and Sports opened at this location and Luna Coffee Roasters opened in 2000.
