Additional Information: | Resurveyed 2015 2015- "Constructed in 1960, this one-story Contemporary building has a flat roof and irregular footprint. The north elevation is angled to conform to the curve of Washington Avenue. The northwest corner of the building has an engaged slender two story stone vertical pier. The exterior walls of the building are clad in a buff stone and trimmed with black granite at the ground level. The entrance is off-centered on the facade; it is surrounded by black granite panels that rise slightly above the roofline. The glazed door with transom window are recessed slightly and sheltered by a cantilevered flat roof. All of the building's windows have a narrow vertical emphasis, with upper and lower lights smaller than the center lights. South of the entrance are four fenestration bays. Each comprises of a string of five windows in an alternating pattern of three lights and two lights. North of the entrance is a three part window arrangement. The center window is a string offour single-lights that are recessed into the building. In front of the window, in line with the wall surface, is a planter box. Above the window, also in line with the wall surface, is a string offour single lights. On either side of this center window are narrow three light windows. This configuration is repeated on the north elevation." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
