Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "West Racine Commercial Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This two-stmy commercial building was constructed in 1930. It has a flat roof with simple parapet across the facade panels between the parapet and second story windows. The facade is divided into four fenestration bays. The second story bays each have paired one-over-one double hung wood windows. The first story has two equal sized storefronts with a central pedestrian door that likely provides access to the second story. Each storefront consisted of large display windows with a recessed entrance on their east side. The storefronts are sheltered by a wood shingle pent roof which is larger over the east store front and central door than the west storefront. The pedestrian entrances to the building are partially glazed doors with transom lights above. A backlit sign is positioned perpendicular to the fayade on its second story; it reads "Larsen Bakery" and features a pretzel." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
