Additional Information: | Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This two-story commercial building was constructed in 1910. It has a flat roof with a parapet. The exterior walls of the building are clad in a buff brick. Limestone pilasters with triangle and arrow motifs divide the facade into three bays; each bay has a separate storefront on the first story. Two limestone band courses delineate the second story and roofline. Limestone ornamentation includes an arched panel at the center of the facade parapet;, it consists of a cartouche between foliated scroll motifs. The facade is symmetrical, with three one-over-one vinyl windows in the center bay flanked by four vinyl one-over-one windows in the east and west bays. Twelve evenly spaced one-over-one vinyl windows light the second story on the east elevation. The first story storefronts feature metal framed display windows resting on red brick knee walls. The space above the displays between the first and second stories is a smooth surface for signage or awnings. The westernmost storefront surface is painted black, and has a glazed recessed entrance. The center storefront is under construction, and the entrance is obscured by temporary plywood coverings. The east storefront is has a glazed pedestrian door on the facade, and a glazed entrance cutaway from the building's corner." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
