Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Washington Avenue Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This two-story American Foursquare house was constructed in 1922. It has a rectilinear footprint, an open porch on the facade, and an enclosed porch on the west elevation. Both porches have flat roofs supported by brick posts with brick knee walls in between. The facade porch spans the full width of the elevation, and serves as the primary entrance to the house. The west porch is smaller and centered on the elevation. The roof of the house is hipped and sheathed in asphalt shingles. It features a hipped dormer on the facade slope. The walls of the house are clad in brick with a stucco frieze across the facade and stucco cladding the dormer. Decorative brickwork creates a panel on the knee wall of the facade porch, and highlights the corners of the first story facade windows. Several types offenestration are present on the house. The most prominent window is a large fixed wood framed window on the facade first story. East of this window is the front door, which is wood and partially glazed with a modern storm door. The remaining windows are vinyl replacements. The second story facade windows are paired sashes, with multiple lights over a single light. The enclosed porch and dormer have multi-light casements." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
