NOTES
Additional Information:March/June 2001-Once known as #28;Murphy#25;s Stables#29;, this large barn has two distinct components. What is thought to be the original block is oriented on an east/west axis and characterized by faux log construction and a broken gable roof. Set within the gables are three, four over four light windows flanked by smaller single, four light windows, beneath which are four panel, sliding doors. The north sidewall is also punctuated by generally symmetrically placed, four over four light windows. Perpendicular to the original block and projecting to the south from its east end is a large addition with a shallow gable roof. Largely sheathed with vertical board, the additional lacks any sense of architectural character. The property is vacant and deteriorating. Many windows are missing and a large portion of the addition#25;s roof is gone.

Historical information about Murphy#25;s Stables is scant. It was, apparently, a popular horse-riding stable in the 1950s and 60s.

No information was found to suggest that this property has any potential for the National Register eligibility under Criterion A or B. As for Criterion C, the structure is generally as undistinguished as it is large, save for the visual interest created by the faux log construction. Nevertheless, since the facility will be removed by the proposed project, it was deemed appropriate to complete a survey card, although a DOE is not warranted.
